Planner is responsible for all financial planning for a retail product category or account and works in partnership with Sales, Merchandising and the account(s) Buying and Planning team. Develops and executes sales, margin, and
inventory financial plans with assigned SBU or accounts, (department stores). The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years experience in a similar capacity.
Direct Responsibilities:
Work with Account Executive and Account’s buying team to set and achieve sales, margin, inventory goals and brand strategies.
Analyze the business to drive growth utilizing store, climate, volume group and overlay tools.
Review weekly sales results from account’s selling reports. Monitor plans and OTD pricing, making callouts where necessary, to maximize sales and minimize margin giveback.
Monitor markdown allowance need (if applicable) on a monthly basis.
Work with AE and the Design/Merchandise group on a monthly/quarterly basis to share selling information, category information, sku count recommendation, and opportunities for the following season.
Meet with AE on a regular basis to discuss issues and opportunities.
Travel to accounts, trade shows, as required by account/division.
Work with Division team members on solutions to maximize our internal sales & profitability. Candidate will also provide solutions for inventory sell off.
Work with Demand Planning and Sales to create assortment recommendations
Partner with Demand Planning on unit projections for replenishment and key items.
Understand all components of inventory and work with team to maintain appropriate WOS to plan and LY
Ability to work in a team environment
Requirements:
3+ years experience in retail Buying or Planning
Advanced level of understanding of retail math, Excel.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to analyze problems and solve both financial and merchandise issues.
Ability to set priorities to accomplish task at hand.
