Job Title: Technical Designer
Location: New York, NY
Compensation: $80-000k-$90,000 Salary is commensurate with experience and is an estimated range provided by JBC.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Design during prototype development to ensure design intent.
- Create accurate technical packages, including specs and construction details.
- Conduct fittings, write fit notes, and work with overseas factories to meet design, fit, and spec requirements; make pattern corrections as needed.
- Troubleshoot and resolve design and fit issues with cross-functional teams.
- Update fit notes and specs after fittings and communicate changes to factories.
- Provide technical guidance during design pass-off on construction, fabrics, and finishes.
- Review and approve prototype samples, ensuring alignment with design intent.
- Maintain WIP tracker and stay updated on industry trends to enhance product quality.
Your Profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or related field.
- Experience in woven, cut-and-sew categories with high-end brands.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Illustrator.
- Strong understanding of garment construction, fit, and draping.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.
