Core Responsibilities
1. Packaging Design
- Concept & Design Development
Create visually appealing and brand-right packaging designs for all apparel categories, including multipacks. Ensure designs communicate product benefits, quality, and fit within retailer and brand guidelines.
- Structure & Format Adaptation
Work closely with production, sourcing, and packaging engineering to develop dielines and adapt creative across multiple formats (boxes, bags, hang tags, belly bands, etc.).
- Print Production & Quality Control
Provide final production files to vendors and verify print quality through prepress review, press checks, or digital proofs.
2. Retail & In-Store Marketing
- Inline & Print Promotional Materials
Design inline point-of-sale materials including shelf blades, header cards, in-store signage, and promotional posters.
- Pallet & Shipper Tray Design
Develop branded and retailer-specific creative for floor displays, pallet programs, and shipper trays, optimizing for shopability and brand presence.
3. Sales & Presentation Support
- Retailer Pitch Decks & Line Presentations
Partner with Sales and Merchandising to create compelling sales materials that reflect brand identity, product benefits, and retailer alignment.
- Retailer-Specific Adaptations
Customize creative for retailer-specific standards, private label programs, and seasonal pitch decks.
- Mockups & Visualizations
Provide 3D renderings, planograms, and digital mockups for product placement, packaging, and displays.
4. Brand Management & Visual Identity
- Brand Guidelines & Consistency
Maintain and evolve the visual identity of both house and licensed brands, ensuring consistency across all touchpoints.
- Creative Oversight
Act as brand guardians for visual storytelling, ensuring all creative outputs are on-brand, consumer-relevant, and category-appropriate.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Internal Partnerships
Work in close collaboration with Marketing, Sales, Merchandising, Product Development, and Sourcing to bring products to life visually.
- External Partnerships
Manage and direct outside agencies, freelance designers, photographers, and production vendors as needed.
Key Roles Within the Department
- Creative Director / Head of Creative Services
Leads the department, sets the creative vision, and ensures alignment with business goals and brand strategy.
- Senior Graphic Designer(s)
Owns the execution of packaging, retail, and promotional creative, from concept through final artwork.
- Production Artist(s)
Ensures all files are production-ready, manages mechanicals and dielines, and supports reformatting for different retailers.
- Retail & Display Designer
Specializes in creating impactful in-store and pallet display visuals.
- Presentation Specialist / Sales Creative Designer
Focuses on creating decks, mockups, and retailer pitch materials to support Sales.
- Project Manager / Traffic Coordinator
Manages creative timelines, approvals, and workflow between teams and vendors.
