Salary: $85,000 to $95,000 Salary is commensurate with experience and is an estimated range provided by JPSearch.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop concepts for assigned categories based on the company’s seasonal direction (e.g. color, styling, etc.)
- Research and stay up to date on seasonal trends
- Develop sketches for assigned categories
- Collaborate with the Product Development and Technical Design teams to prevent and resolve production problems for current and upcoming seasons
- Communicate daily with vendors and internal partners
- Assist with line presentation for bi-annual sales meetings, mini-markets, and vendor meetings
- Work closely with the Design team and Director of Design to ensure calendar deadlines are met
- Collaborate with Marketing, Sales, etc. to ensure all products are on time for sales meetings, photo shoots, and in-store deliveries
- Participate in fit sessions with Director of Design, Product Development, and Technical Design team
- Collaborate closely with the Merchandise team to align product designs with business goals, ensuring that seasonal assortments reflect market trends, drive sales, and uphold the brand aesthetic
- Manage and maintain the production calendar, ensuring all design deliverables are completed on time to support seamless product development and on-time market launches
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Merchandising, or related field, or equivalent work experience
- 4+ years of proven fashion design experience, preferably in men’s apparel
- Expertise with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop; proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Working knowledge of CAD and PLM software
- Strong understanding of silhouettes, fabrication, construction techniques, fit, and trim
- Strong fashion sense and the ability to identify and interpret trends for commercial success
- Experience with knits and/or wovens preferred
- Must currently be working as a designer (not seeking associate designers)
