Responsibilities:
- Design and develop seasonal collections for contemporary and missy women’s apparel, focusing particularly on sweater designs.
- Create sketches, technical drawings, and specifications for new designs.
- Research and identify trends in colors, fabrics, and styles relevant to the target market.
- Collaborate closely with the design team, patternmakers, and merchandisers to ensure cohesive collection development.
- Oversee and participate in fittings to ensure design integrity and fit accuracy.
- Work closely with overseas suppliers and manufacturers to execute designs within set timelines and quality standards.
- Maintain awareness of market trends, competitor products, and consumer preferences to drive innovation and market relevance.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or related field.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in womenswear design, with a focus on contemporary and missy apparel.
- Proven expertise in sweater design, with a strong portfolio showcasing successful designs and collections.
- Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite, CAD, and other relevant tools.
- Strong knowledge of garment construction, textiles, and manufacturing processes.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate design concepts and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Passion for fashion and a keen eye for detail, trends, and innovation.
