Location: NYC
Responsible for directly communicating with factories on a daily basis during the production life cycle of each PO. He/She will work closely with design and merchandising counterparts to ensure all teams are aligned and updated on product status and deliveries.
Responsibilities:
- Place/Write factory purchase orders and monitor all details associated with each order during the life cycle of the order until it is shipped from china.
- Manage WIPs
- Partner closely with design, technical design & merchandising to develop & deliver on brand, high quality product that meets business requirements
- Manage in-season production, WIPS & On Time Delivery
- Communicate with merchandising regarding any potential delivery issues, offering solutions & problem solving
- Partner closely with vendor base to ensure efficient management of business, from product development to factory
- Manage compliance and testing
- Work with quality and testing teams to ensure all bulk product meets standards & is classified properly
- Onboard new vendors & work closely with compliance to audit and set up new factories
- Overseas communications
Qualifications:
- Experience in home goods a plus but not required
- Experience working with mass retailers ie Costco, Walmart, TJX, etc.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel and an ERP system
- Production & product development experience
- Strong communication skills; ability to navigate & manage cross functional relationships
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing & factory operations
- Strategic thinker
- Expertise at cost negotiations/fact-based costing
- Strong vendor relationships
- Ability to multi task & manage conflicting priorities in a fast paced, ever changing environment
Salary: $75,000-85,000
