Job Title: Freelance Denim Designer
Start:  ASAP
End: Temp to Perm
Location: NYC Hybrid 
Pay: $50/hr- $60/hr Hourly rate is commensurate with experience and is an estimated range provided by JBC
Job Description:

  • Looking for a candidate with experience in denim- preferably womenswear 
  • Experience in both the contemporary and off-price market is a plus
  • Familiarity with denim washes, construction, fabrications, and treatments
  • Maintain and update denim wash archives
  • Will assist Design Director to create seasonal mood boards, also with fabric direction, silhouettes, color and wash palettes
  • Must be able to design at a price point and interpret trends that fit within brand’s aesthetics
  • Possess excellent sketching skills and is proficient in Illustrator
  • Will handle line development through production fit and approval process
  • Must have fit experience
  • Work closely and develop strong partnerships with the sales and production teams

Qualifications:

  • Have a BA degree in art/fashion with 5 years denim experience
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment and multi task
  • Understands denim washing  and treatments
  • Must have garment construction and fit knowledge
  • Must be highly proficient in Photoshop. Illustrator, Excel, and Simparel knowledge is a plus
