Pay rate: $35/hr Hourly rate is commensurate with experience and is an estimated range provided by JBC.
*Must provide a portfolio with strong hand sketches and CAD skills
The Temporary Associate Designer is responsible for assisting the team by participating in all phases of the design development process from initial concept to final production
Duties:
- Extensively research tear sheets, mood images, trends, prints, colors, and silhouettes each season
- CAD/render sketches with patterns, prints, and color by hand and Photoshop
- Sketch detailed flats by hand, Photoshop, and Illustrator
- Assist in creating inspiring design presentation boards each season
- Create, assist, and complete all design handoffs/tech packs
- Update sketches and CADs as changes occur in the line and update design board
- Support day to day of all design functions
- Collaborate with all design teams and cross-functional teams throughout the design process
- Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design preferred
- Technical skill requirements: Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop (ability to sketch and CAD)
- Proficient in hand sketching and Illustration
- Design, color, and aesthetic sensibility
- Works with sense of urgency and ability to complete tasks with speed, ease, and accuracy
- PLM and Adobe XD experience a plus
