Title of Job: Director of Social Media

Salary: $160,000 – $180,000
*Salary is commensurate with experience and is an estimated range provided by JBC

We are looking for a proactive, experienced, and hands-on Social Media Director with a track record of building successful social platforms and communities. Reporting directly to the SVP, Marketing and working closely with our Founder and cross-functional team members, this individual will translate the ideation and vision of the company into content that helps fuel our growth. This important role will lead the charge in defining and executing the strategy, monitoring performance, and helping to supercharge the Brand’s awareness and buzz.


This is a hybrid role for candidates who are based in the NY area. The position may require up to 25% travel to locations nationally and internationally where the brand is investing in activations and events.



Principal Accountabilities (List accountabilities of the role)


§ Build a nascent social strategy into an awareness and traffic driver for the Brand; reevaluate and recommend strategy, processes, and performance objectives

§ Manage and mentor a junior team to support the overall team mission and goals

§ Work in lockstep with Brand, Wholesale and Digital teams to support multiple business objectives and ensure a 360-degree approach to marketing

§ Spearhead social campaigns and ongoing cadence informed by brand strategy and calendar; translate the Brand’s rich storytelling opportunities into engaging content

§ Conceptualize and lead the creation of compelling content for multiple channels; look for ways to stand out and maximize trends; give final top approval on all posts

§ Spearhead market and industry research to inform social media strategies; stay current with social media best practices and new digital technologies

§ Manage social media budget, resources and timelines; optimize resources effectively to meet goals

§ Guide community management best practices and establish a process for generating and amplifying testimonials and transformational stories from our community

§ Identify opportunities to partner with like-minded brands and influencers to expand brand awareness and customer engagement

Key Experience and Skills

§ Expertise in managing and growing social media platforms with an emphasis on Tiktok, Instagram and YouTube

§ A passion for beauty brands and the digital/social landscape; forward-thinking with a trend-hunting mindset

§ A high-level of aesthetic taste and demonstrated ability to grow a luxury brand preferred

§ Well-versed in social media tools and analytics; a natural ability to use data, intuition, and creativity to make business decisions

§ Able to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial business environment while working effectively and collaboratively with team members

§ Detailed-oriented, highly organized with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and deadlines

§ Ability to establish and improve processes; ability to nurture and grow and team

§ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
