Compensation Range 80-125K

Our client is a dynamic skincare group and they are looking for a Senior Chemist in Moonachie, NJ to join their team. 
 

If you are an experienced Senior Chemist with expertise in developing skincare including OTC – we want to discuss this role with you.

The ideal candidate would be able to work in a fast-paced, ever changing environment. This position reports to Head of R&D.

 

Job Description:

 

  • Create formulas independently and follow-ups on product stability in addition to being able to identify alternatives for reformulation purposes.
  • Develop new and robust skin care formulations and processes as well as understands the relationship between formulation and production.
  • Ability to work and negotiate well across R&D and inter-related departments to enable and drive projects forward.
  • Knowledgeable and considers the importance of processing, operating, and design factors that affect skin care formulations.
  • Work closely with Regulatory, QC & Compliance to ensure FDA compliance for product formulation requirements.
  • Handles multiple projects simultaneously and can work under tight deadlines.
  • Develop expertise with our software systems, or other systems and platforms as may be required.
  • Follow all GMP guidelines, SOPs and safety requirements.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or related discipline. Advanced degree is a plus.
  • 5+ years of formulation experience.
  • Working experience in developing innovative skin/hair/OTC products and ensure all projects are completed in timely manner.
  • Thorough understanding of cosmetic raw materials and latest technologies
  • Thorough understanding of laboratory and scale-up production equipment
  • Knowledge of cosmetic manufacturing practices and operations
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Must have confidence to mentor junior chemists.
  • Excellent team-building skills
  • Creative / Out-of-the-box thinker
