Job Responsibilities:
- Work on the development cycle from initial concept through production.
- Ensure development execution is in accordance with design, sourcing, and brand strategy.
- Lead cross functional communication and coordination of timing, calendar, product updates, approvals, and issues.
- Source raw materials and components while maintaining quality standards and margin goals.
- Anticipate and identify any potential obstacles in the development process and facilitate the effective resolution of issues.
- Identify and maintain seasonal development metrics.
- Monitor & track the samples, trims, fabric, print, and color development approvals to/from Suppliers and internal communication.
- Support the sample production cycle to secure on time salesman/showroom sample delivery.
- Responsible for cost negotiations with the suppliers to meet or exceed margin targets.
- Ensure that all product information is accurate in PLM system at all times during lifecycle of the product.
- Attend fittings with design and tech design.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in apparel product development and/or sourcing.
- Understanding brand price points and margin expectations.
- Understanding the SKU Plan for both Main line and OP line.
- Understanding our customer and our competitors.
- Knowledge of garment production.
- Knowledge of fabric constructions and weights.
- Knowledge of PLM, Word and Excel.
- Illustrator knowledge a plus.
- Knowledge of technical packages.
