Junior Accounting/Finance Analyst

Title: Junior Accounting/Finance Analyst

Salary: $85,000 – $120,000 Salary is commensurate with experience and is an estimated range provided by JPSearch.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain financial records and prepare spreadsheets/reports using accounting software.
• Prepare monthly financial reports and research/resolve accounting issues.
• Assist in monthly and quarterly closing procedures.
• Prepare bank reconciliation statements and process bank deposits.
• Coordinate and assist with audits, working with outside CPAs as needed.
• Process balance sheets, income statements, and perform general ledger tasks, including generating journal entries and reconciling balance sheet accounts.
• Prepare weekly/monthly management reports and assist with monthly/yearly closings.
• Provide ad hoc financial analysis and support for special projects or initiatives.
• Ensure data accuracy and integrity in financial systems.
• Apply daily cash receipts and maintain insurance policies (e.g., D&O, employer's liability, cyber, workers’ compensation).
• Maintain strict confidentiality and take ownership of assigned projects.
• Perform other duties and essential functions as assigned.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience in finance or accounting.
• A degree or certification in accounting or finance.
• Highly analytical mindset with proficiency in numbers and mathematics.
• Solid understanding of accounting and financial best practices.
• Detail-oriented, highly organized, and capable of working individually or in a team.
• Advanced knowledge of Excel, including pivot tables, v-lookups, and working with complex Excel models.
• Experience with SQL and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI) is a plus.
