Role Overview: As a Music Licensing Specialist, you will serve as a key resource for the Culture Media Network department, providing music solutions and project management support. Your primary focus will be managing music licensing projects, advising stakeholders on suitable music choices, and overseeing the licensing process with rights-owners. This role supports three main areas: music supervision, commissioning bespoke music, and project management of licensing topics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and advise stakeholders on music choices for audio-visual content in Music, Dance, and Culture.
- Act as the point of contact for all music licensing negotiations, securing deals with rights holders.
- Commission and manage bespoke music compositions and recordings for media productions.
- Manage the licensing process with rights owners, finalizing deals and coordinating resources.
- Liaise with labels, music publishers, and licensing agencies.
Requirements
Education and Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in the Music Industry.
- Degree in Music composition and/or music production preferred.
- Proven experience in music creation at a professional level.
- Experience with metadata management and organization of production partners.
- Knowledge of musical terminology and production techniques.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Deep musical knowledge and understanding of content provider needs.
- Technological understanding of digital workflows and databases.
- Strong negotiation skills and familiarity with legal aspects of music licensing.
- Excellent communication and business management skills.
- Creative problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
