We are seeking a civil litigation attorney for a dynamic law firm with 2+ years of experience. We desire a candidate with an exceptional commitment to service who can carry out all litigation phases, from case management and motion practice to mediations and trials.

Responsibilities:
- Represent clients with insurance coverage and civil litigation proceedings to argue court motions and in-house claims
- Identify insurance client conflicts to determine case arguments that offer ideal options for resolution
- Help oversee insurance firm paralegals, litigation associates, administrative staff, legal assistants, and others, as assigned
- Develop and carry out promising legal defense strategies by performing legal research, auditing for coverage issues, and drafting legal documents
- Weigh all available options for successful insurance case first-party action and advise clients accordingly
- Prepare all necessary legal documents for policyholders and cases, including briefs, motions, pleadings, and correspondence
- Provide mentorship to administrative staff in regards to insurance law, clients’ billing, invoicing, meetings, and projects
Qualifications
- Graduation from law school with Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree and experience representing clients for a minimum of two years
- More than one year in the insurance industry as an insurance coverage attorney, insurance defense attorney, or similar role in an insurance law firm is necessary
- Current, active membership California bar association is required
- Experience using legal research programs such as Westlaw and Lexis required
- Solid decision-making, interpersonal communication, and public speaking skills are non-negotiable
- Effectively manage the demands of a heavy caseload without the need for supervision
