JBC is proud to announce that our first annual “Holiday of Hope: 7 Days for 747 Gifts” program has raised close to $1,140! We cannot fully express our gratitude for the generousity of those who have donated gifts, clothing, money and time to our cause.

We are asking friends, family, colleagues and even perfect strangers to support this initiative by donating a small holiday gift ($5.00 or less) to our program. For each gift received, JBC will be donating a reciprocal gift to ensure every student will have a present to unwrap this holiday season.

A drop box is located in the lobby of our office until December 20th, and our door is always open. As of today we are accepting unwrapped gifts appropriate for boys and girls in kindergarten through fifth grade. We will be personally delivering all donated gifts during the week of December 19th.

Over the past week, we have collected a whopping 600 gifts … and we are still counting! With only 147 more gifts to go, we can say with great excitement that our mission to provide each child at PS MS 306 with a wonderful present to unwrap and enjoy this holiday season is almost complete.

PS MS 306 is a K-5 Title 1 school in the Bronx that is in need of some holiday cheer. The warmth they get each day is from the amazing teachers at PS MS 306 and the school that brings them a warm meal, a platform of opportunity and a group of exceptional people who care.

During the holidays, there is nothing that generates more joy than the solidarity of a group of people working towards a single goal. Holiday cheer was thick in the air last night as JBCers armed themselves with rolls of wrapping paper, tape, a pair of scissors and piles of gifts to stay afterhours for the first annual giftwrapping party.

These efforts will hopefully help make this holiday season a warmer and more joyous time for the students of PS MS 306. In true holiday spirit, this Thursday everyone at JBC – donning a santa hat and a handful of candy canes – will personally deliver 747 gifts to these children.

Not only will each child recieve a gift, but the entire school will be graced with the appearance of three jolly Santas! Until then, JBC continues to busily prepare for the moment when we can finally present our gifts to these deserving students.

We look forward to a memorable day of great holiday love and cheer!
