Salary: $70,000-$90,000
*Salary is commensurate with experience and is an estimated range provided by JBC*
Responsibilities:
- Lead the technical design process for the Kids/Girls division, covering toddlers (sizes 3T-5T) and girls (sizes 7-16), with some boys' experience.
- Manage all categories, including tops, bottoms, dresses, and more, ensuring designs meet fit, construction, and quality standards.
- Oversee pattern corrections, garment fittings, and adjustments to ensure the highest fit and functionality standards.
- Collaborate closely with designers, merchandisers, and production teams to ensure accurate execution of designs.
- Ensure all tech packs are comprehensive and submitted timely, covering all product details, specifications, and construction guidelines.
- Manage communication with factories to resolve issues related to fit, construction, and production processes.
- Implement and maintain PLM systems to streamline the design and production process, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Stay updated on trends in fast fashion and kidswear, applying them to technical designs while balancing cost efficiency for off-price accounts.
- Ensure adherence to compliance and safety standards in kidswear, in line with regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
- 3-5+ years of technical design experience, ideally at a mid-to-senior level in the kids/girls apparel category.
- Proficient in cut & sew, knits, and wovens across a variety of kidswear categories.
- Strong knowledge of pattern-making, construction, and garment fitting processes.
- Experience working with off-price accounts.
- Proficient in PLM systems, Adobe Illustrator, and other technical design software.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to lead the technical design process with minimal supervision, taking ownership of the kids/girls division.
