Production Planner

- Plan and prioritize operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delays.
- Determine manpower, equipment and raw materials needed to cover production demand.
- Schedule production schedules according to production needs and budgets
- Address issues when they arise aiming for minimum disruption.
- Obtain output information (number of finished products, percentage of defectives etc.)
- Prepare and submit status and performance reports.
- Collaborate with quality control, warehouse, and other staff.
- Monitor overall operational supply, not limited to production, and identify any shortages or bottlenecks.
- Plan, release, schedule, and track manufacturing work orders from inception at order entry through to completion of production for your assigned product family by using our ERP system (Microsoft Dynamics) and our scheduling system.
- Collaborate to resolve any potential issues and estimated completion dates to our cross-functional partners in Quality, Production, Customer Service, Warehousing and Engineering.
- Create requisition Purchase Orders for primary components, or secondary packaging as required to fulfill orders.
- Track key KPIs and work to achieve 95% schedule attainment.
- Monitor retail commitments and assign production priorities based on customer needs and production availability.
- Identify failures to standard that impact manufacturing capacity/flexibility. Review monthly.
- Resolve issues by presenting various alternatives for decisions at weekly S&OP meetings.
- Review New Product introductions, and Promotion Calendar to ensure that Supply Chain can support all program requirements.
- Participate in meetings and keep up to date on issues related to Manufacturing, Planning, New Product introductions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree Preferred (major in Supply Chain or Operations Preferred)
- Minimum of two years of supply chain or operations experience (Preferred)
- Experience or familiarity with Material Requirements Planning (MRP)
- Experience or familiarity with ERP systems
- Expertise with Microsoft Office, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
- Time management skills and the ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- An independent thinker capable of working in a collaborative environment
- Ability to identify and eliminate potential problem areas with an “out of the box” approach.
