Salary: $65,000-$75,000
*Salary is commensurate with experience and is an estimated range provided by JBC*

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop men’s sweaters and knitwear collections in line with the brand’s aesthetic, focusing on contemporary tailoring.
• Utilize in-depth knowledge of knit techniques to create innovative, high-quality designs.
• Conduct thorough fabric research and work closely with mills to source new materials and develop custom knit fabrics.
• Produce detailed illustrations and technical sketches using Adobe Illustrator, including fabric CAD illustrations and line sheets.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create cohesive seasonal collections, maintaining brand consistency.
• Stay ahead of trends through research and translate insights into commercially viable designs.
• Present design concepts and ideas to internal teams and leadership for feedback and approval.
• Communicate regularly with vendors, mills, and suppliers to manage sampling and production timelines.
• Ensure that all designs meet the brand’s standards for fit, quality, and craftsmanship.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in men’s knitwear design, with a focus on sweaters.
• Strong proficiency in knit design techniques, yarns, and fabric properties.
• Excellent skills in Adobe Illustrator and CAD software for creating detailed sketches and line sheets.
• Experience with fabric research and the ability to illustrate knit designs digitally.
• Proven experience working with vendors, mills, and overseas factories.
• Strong understanding of men’s fashion, trends, and tailoring.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
