Pay rate: $50-60/hr*

*Hourly rate is commensurate with experience and is an estimated range provided by JBC. Our client is hiring at multiple levels.

Our client is a major publication house. They are looking for a graphic designer with a strong background in animation to work on on projects for digital, print, environmental, interactive and broadcast channels. We are not seeking just a designer that has a deep understanding of graphic design including grids, typography, a use of white space and more. We are looking for this skill in addition to a deep and practical understanding of animation and motion design that works in tandem with their current work. 

You need to have:

  • Prior in-house creative services or agency experience is helpful, but not essential.
  • Work efficiently and independently in a fast-paced environment, “do-it-all” attitude with ability to take on both large and small tasks.
  • Expert knowledge of print production and digital prepress processes
  • Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects), Microsoft Office, Figma and word press
  • Digital design experience. Created social animation in fast speed (super important one)
  • Obsessed with typography and creative problem-solving.
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines within a short time frame
  • Ability to review own work for quality control against client’s request.
  • Ability to receive and implement art direction through layout revisions.
  • Keeps current with design and production trends.
  • The ability to work within and expand upon a dynamic and defined visual/brand system.
  • Experience in photographic selection, cropping and minor retouching is essential.
  • Comfortable with new processes and technologies.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to do focused, high-quality work under deadline pressure.
  • Must have strong knowledge of print and digital production process.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years’ experience in animation and graphic design.
  • Official Adobe certification is a plus.
  • Any additional languages including Mandarin, French and/or Spanish is a plus.
